Missing out on eternal reward is a pretty big downside. Also note that the Bible says hell will be worse for some than others, so that's a downside to doubling down on sin.
There's no way of avoiding it though, she's not going to repent for something she doesn't feel the need to repent for. That'd be fucking stupid.
Also some eternal punishment for having sex with her wife, for her, would be worse than worse eternal punishment for actually doing things she considers bad. The psychological aspect to torture.
Going to a prison where they give you crappy food for life for littering isn't necessarily better than going to prison where they give you crappy food and lashings every day for murdering people.
The murderer has it better than the litterer psychologically.
"Tradition" is just a word people use to make themselves feel better about being an asshole.
