The farther son stuff really worked for me, and thankfully there was no touchy feely ‘everyone is special’ bullshit which I could easily see being shoehorned into this type of story.
There were probably 2 or 3 lines which I did cringe at a bit, that felt a bit cliche. But honestly the level of storytelling and screenplay overall is as good as any major blockbuster movie if you ask me.
