Middle East oil is really not important to the US anymore. Fracking technology and declining demand was on track to making the US self sufficient in fossil fuel.

However, it seems that trump, by rolling back Obama’s auto gas efficiency standard and increasing consumption, is working hard to make the US more dependent on oil imports again.

But Iran till has a lot of interaction with the US. I was thinking more along the line of why don't they simply end all of it as it the US didn't exist?
