Flash and Frost (our pitbulls) get Kibble and Bits. They like it, and it did well for our previous dogs no matter how bad everyone says it is. Every once in a while they'll get a cooked Egg as a treat.
Our cat will ONLY eat Walmart brand catfood. We've tried everything else, but she won't eat it. You could give her caviar, and she'd turn her nose up at it and only want Walmart brand catfood. If they quit making it, I'd worry about her. (She's getting up there in age now. I think she's 17 or 18) She won't eat mice either. She'll play with it, but no way is she eating it. (She's pretty spoiled)
Honestly I think exercise is more important for dogs than diet. Of course too much sodium is bad for them. But I think all the expensive health food brands aren't all they're cracked up to be. (And we can't really afford them anyway. Not if our kids want to go to college, and have a roof over their head)
