I have a journalism degree. But I am not blind. Conflict sells adds, just like the NHL is legalized assault. But it is not good when a politician get involved in vilifying the press.
The press deserves to be vilified. They took a crucial institution, and turned it into a tool to manipulate people for money.
CEO's are rich. And rich trumps political ideology.
Let me ask you this, do you think the media is trying to inform their readers/viewers, or do you think they are trying to get readers/viewers? Which do you think is their priority?
NO,
Human beings are greedy, the concept of institutions are human constructs.
Competition is going to happen no mater what, there is no way to stop that. But to vilify every journalist as individuals is carpet bombing. The same vilification Hitler and Stalin and Po Pot did to dissent, and they used media to spread that totalitarian behavior.
I think the media is like any other human run entity, it can be used for good or bad.
I have problems with media too. But I will not allow the mindset of blanket vilification by politicians to be the social norm.
