And here i was expecting an indictment of atheism too bad
I believe that theists think that just because their theism is the primary source that informs their worldview, our atheism is the primary source that informs ours.
Thus, they make the kind of mistake that has Stalin's, and other totalitarian Communist leaders, primary motivation for their mass murder as their atheism. Instead, of the most obvious source, their totalitarian Communism.
My atheism does not inform my worldview any more than my disbelief in bigfoot, alien abductions, chupacabra, etc, does.
If anything can be said to be my worldview, skepticism would be high on the list. Also secular humanism.
There is also a good possibility, that the only thing separating the number of people killed by Christians during Inquisition and Crusades, and Stalin, Pol Pot, is the Christians access to modern weaponry, and the world population.
You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.
