I just wanted to clarify something here. I didn't come into this conversation, to debate same sex civil unions, and for the most part I haven't been. What I have been talking about is the demonization and intolerance, towards anyone with a different view than your own. Against the hate and attacks on anyone who holds a biblical view in this matter (which we have seen here). There are some who call themselves Christians who act similarly (or even worse) towards homosexuals and people with same sex attractions, but that doesn't legitimize the lying and twisting words and the other rhetoric. As of right now the discussion was taken out of the hands of the people, and was handed down by five un-elected lawyers. I'm not angry or bitter about this; although I think there is a lesson to be learned about progressive judges who will legislate from the bench.
However; I believe if an objective morality, which by extension means objective rights. While we may debate about what those things are, we can't just change them. Definitions of words do change, and can no longer mean what they use to. Sometimes, they may have multiple meanings, in which we need to determine what the speaker is intending. I think that this thread serves as an example of bigotry towards Christians and those who hold a traditional view of marriage, than showing any bigotry towards homosexuals.
Edit: by bigotry I mean: obstinate or intolerant devotion to one's own opinions and prejudices. Not just believing that the other is in the wrong.
