Wrong again. Marriage is not a legal institution--in any way. It is easy to see that out of the 10,000 years of existence, the government has imposed a few rules for like the last 5 minutes.
Really? So, those document you have to get from the courthouse before you can get married are just for fun and not legally binding in any way? You can just skip that part if you want? I'd love to see the tax audit for the asshole who claims to be filing as married when he doesn't have the documentation to back it up. Marriage is a legal institution in this country, Steve, not a matter of opinion. It doesn't matter if it became one 10,000 years ago or yesterday. You don't get to just declare yourself married and get all the legal benefits, not even in common law marriage jurisdictions.
For fuck's sake, you'd think the chuckle-fuck arguing against changing the definition of marriage would actually understand what marriage is.
