The big question is whether generations maintain their affiliation permanently, or whether they change over time. Considering that people who were young in the sixties and seventies are now in the conservative groups, I'm thinking some change toward conservatism does happen.

A study we read in a women's studies course in college made the point that women become more politically conservative as they get older. I suspect the same holds true for men. More active politically and more conservative. There's an observation hiding in there just waiting to be made.
