The thread and OP had nothing to do with the affected workers. The wording, and the fact that it's in Off Topic rather than Current Events or Politics, indicate that it was light-hearted ribbing of products that were past their prime.
Face it, on Halloween no one tried to score seconds at a house giving out Necco wafers.
I dunno about that. My daughter's birthday is on Halloween for reals. In our old neighborhood everyone knew that and she always got double candy. So it's a thing.
So are themed parties for her for the rest of her life, poor kid.
