6-Set your house in perfect order before you criticize the world .. though of course it is easier to turn your criticism outward.
9-Assume that the person you are listening to might know something you don't .. I believe he has put more thought and care into what he has to say than you have in characterizing it.
10-Be precise in your speech .. He seems to do a better job of it than you. Not that you suck at this but you do seem under motivated.

Here in sunny California, a flat roof gets a rock texture, with rocks in the 1" or so range. Skate on that, little fuckers. NB- I had a skateboard as a kid, but only surfed sidewalks or the street. That other shit like handrails, roofs and so forth were not something I ever participated in. Around here, handrails have bumps welded on to discourage that "grind" shit.
We have a large 'flat' roof with cap sheeting. It has lasted longer than 30 years and can have its life extended with a silver 'paint' coating. We're hoping to nurse it to the end of our lifetimes.
Totally sucks what they did to ChimpLady's roof though. (I was a skateboarder and I did skate some places where we weren't welcome, but no where that did any harm.)
Yes- do go for that "leafing aluminum" paint. Seals and reflects a boatload of sunshine.
