I call bullshit. I am an unapologetic atheist, particularly in regards to the deities of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. In regards to those deities, I am sure enough to have bet my immortal soul (if there was such a thing) against them. How's that for cowardice?
With regards to the question of the existence of any deities, I remain agnostic. I accept the possibility that there could be such a being, far beyond the comprehensibility of humanity. I do not believe it's likely, but in order for me to "know" for certain, my belief must both be justified and true. My belief is justified, yes - but the truth of my belief is untestable, and therefore subject to uncertainty.
That uncertainty in no way undermines my position as an atheist that I believe that there are no deities.
Cowardice isn't part of the equation, and I resent the implication that it is.
