I think mass shootings are an overblown problem. I don't mean they aren't a tragedy. Just that they get so much more media time than they warrent. Partly because most of the victims and shooters are white.
If you are concerned about gun violence, 2/3rds of that, 20,000 people are suicides. 2017 had 281 victims off mass shootings. So a little more than 1% the number of suicides by firearm alone.
Where is the media coverage for that? Why does nobody prioritize when it comes to gun violence? Instead they focus on anamoly events and go 'this is the problem we need to give the most attention to' when it is a tiny sliver.
