^^^^ Now show me where in that sentence it says their goal is to outlaw religion?
Now, if you think only atheists support the idea of the separation of church and state, you'd be wrong.
The following link are full of THEISTS that value the same wall atheists do. The idea that laws are not derived by from religious law, but neutral and inclusive.

If I was the evil atheist you want me to be Max, I would not have voted for Obama. I would not value the likes of Martin Luther King Jr, or Malala.
I value them, not because I agree they need a god, nor do I agree where they think our ability to be good is coming from. I value them for their compassion and empathy. I still disagree with theists where that is coming from.
I'd still argue with those famous people, if I could, that they don't need a god to do those good things. But, I most certainly would support any fellow human who values human rights, equality and non violence.
The founders fought a war against a King who was an authoritarian. People like Jefferson and Paine wanted to avoid authoritarian rule. I know you don't want to believe it Max, but so do I.
There should be no social pecking orders based on religion, or class, or economics. There can only be anti monopoly laws that prevent any aspect of society from becoming oppressive.
I could not survive in Hitler's Germany, or Stalin's Russia or Castro's Cuba. I'd commit suicide before submitting to those monsters.
