No matter what sorts of facts you provide to them. You could tell them that the sky is blue, but if Trump told them it was orange they would rather believe him. I constantly see on social media people getting into arguments with Trump supporters on Facebook news stories. It is useless! Your heart may be in a good place, but these people's brains are fried and can't use logical reasoning. Trump is their God. They worship Trump. Trumpism is a new cult.
Meh. A can't you see how wrong you are approach is always doomed.
I live in a small rustbelt town (western PA near the Ohio border) full of people who voted for Trump. They aren't very much like Trump supporters as seen on TV. A lot of them voted for Obama's 'change you can believe in'. They figured Trump would really change things. I think they just voted for a wrecking ball so that maybe some real change will come from picking up the pieces. They might not be completely wrong. A lot of them liked Bernie Sanders. They don't like Hillary. They were disappointed with Obama. But they are receptive to Bernie, who probably isn't going to run this time. I am hoping for Sherrod Brown, because I am pretty certain these folks will go for him. Talking Sherrod Brown makes them perk up a little bit. I think that quite a few of them would leave Trump for him.
