The only down side to impeachment is success increases trump’s chances of dying in his bed.
It is already far too late to avoid the hideous, possibly nation destroying in the long-term, precedence that one such as trump can advance to the highest office. But the effects of that precedence would become doubly bad if one such as trump could actually serve out his term. Whether pence is a barely tolerable snot or a utterly repugnant snot would pale into insignificance before the impact of the precedent that one such as trump can be left unimpeached.
