So, there won't really be any US support for an alternative to MBS until we see an achievable alternative to MBS that more closely aligns with our interests in the region than he does. Even that eventuality will have to fight against the tide of historic agreements and partnerships, and the tangled mess of personal alliances that people in these positions create for themselves.
