I actually think that it;s the instrospection and revamping that powerfully contributes to schism. The trouble is that christianity is and has always been plainly false.
So...ofc intelligent people want to improve it, but they can't. It's un-improvable.
Look at you, right up there, asking me if the reality of DID makes demi-gods less of a leap.......................I'm 100% murderous and crazy...and human, in both of my incarnations. I'm fine* now, btw. It was a product of severe trauma to the brain a decade ago. What a useless wedge to grasp at for leverage...lol. I was standing on some explosives when they went off...is that what happened to Christ™?
Fact time. The reason that you believe this....is that two cults who could not survive against each other or without combining together, decided to call it a draw. Even if it were true, which it isn't...that's still why you believe that......
