As well as killing eagles by allowing lead bullets:
U.S. Geological Survey confirmed the death of the eagle and attributed the lead poisoning to the bird likely consuming lead bullet fragments while scavenging for food in the fall and winter months.
Advocacy groups have called for hunters to use copper in bullets instead of lead, arguing such a practice could prevent these types of deaths in animals.

If that were true there wouldn' t be a single eagle in my state.
Isn't it amazing however - that after 30 years after the banning of tetraethyl lead in automobile fuel - that the bald eagles made a huge comeback?
Care to guess where the eagles REAL problem was?
