Pregnant Alabama Woman who was shot charged with Manslaughter of her unborn baby

Please do enlighten me under the circumstances in which this woman should be charged with manslaughter. Because I cannot imagine one.

You know, the sad thing is that, apart from the more obvious Gerri Santoro-looking drawbacks, I strongly suspect that shit like this may very well be an inevitable result of such strict abortion laws. While looking up the current status of human rights in El Salvador earlier today for a sock, I saw this:

Abortion in El Salvador is strictly illegal, and the law allows for no exception. In El Salvador, if a woman miscarries it is frequently assumed she deliberately induced an abortion or could have saved the baby. Women who did not know they were pregnant or who could not have prevented a miscarriage face long prison terms.[7][8]
