Do we? Why do we feel hungry? Why do we overeat? Why do we binge? Why do we seek out high calorie foods and find them so delicious? Why do we trend towards inactivity?
These are strategies for staying alive. Your agency is not in control of them, it didn't decide them, it isn't exactly stellar at overriding them. It's our own biology working against us, whatever our agency is, if it is. So that's the hill we have to climb, the weight agency has to lift. Lets imagine that agency can lift 90% of it....the remaining 10% will just tack on, year after year, as your metabolism slows down and you succumb to injury and use damage.
-and we know that agency isn't 90% of obesity. It's not even the strongest predictor.
