When we're getting ready to go out, and I say, 'I'll be ready in five minutes', I mean that I'm wearing clothes and shoes and all I have left to do is grab my pocket plunder (wallet, keys, etc).
When my wife says, 'I'll be ready in five minutes', she means that she'll be ready as soon as she decides which shoes go best with the outfit that she changed into ten minutes ago because the original one was the same one that her friend Chrissa wore to Richard's retirement dinner eleven months ago and that bitch isn't going to get the satisfaction of telling Janice all about it AGAIN and it'll be a cold day in hell before she speaks to Janice who made way too much of the whole deal and wore yellow, as if that was some kind of statement and it's no wonder she's been married twice already.
