A party loyalist might realize that the impeachment hearings would be damaging to party interests and thus not a good idea..and in fact that's already something that the dems have had to come to terms with. Not giving a shit about the democratic party, I don't give a shit about what might be politically inconvenient for them. Ultimately, they seem to have decided that that they're willing to accept that cost, or maybe they think that doing nothing in the face of blatant criminality might be more costly..but the calculus of their political decisions (whatever that is) doesn't alter the facts of the matter at hand.
The american president is unfit. That's not a smear, or a hitjob, it's not even a political statement. Just a fact. It's congress' job to do something about that, regardless of their party affiliation. Some will, some won't, so what..right?
