I disagree with the bolded part, basically.
A freethinker does not mean one's brain falls out of their head due to open-mindedness; they simply reject dogma (and accept science). Science does not teach that truth is subjective; it teaches that truth is what the evidence supports.
Or at least, it teaches that the only reasonable thing to accept as truth is what the evidence supports.
