In God's defense, it is more efficient to allow con artists to perform simple sleight of hand tricks than for Him to come all the way down here and really impress us. He is probably busy creating alternative universes or something. Better to let the gullible be awestruck by flim flammers and hack magicians. They have served Him well as confederates for millennia.
God thinks it's fun to confuse primates. Larsen's God!
