The sooner a crime is reported the better chance there is of getting good evidence.
With a rape they would do a check on her to find evidence of penetration, semen, signs of a struggle like bruises, check to see if she got drugged
It's hard to prove a rape so every piece of evidence is crucial.
They may find signs of penetration and semen but it still doesn't prove a rape cos it could have been consentual
Cops down here are so eager to prosecute anything and everything with fuck all evidence, especially for women.
Not only is it harder to make a case after so long but it's not fair on the defendant as it is also harder to defend.
