Biden's Victory Speech
We just walked away from a 20 year fight which at best was a draw -

And Biden has the gall to call it a success..

Well, we did finally manage to do something that should have been done already and passed through several other administrations.

I don't have a gripe about it.

I have no problem with the withdrawl. We never should have gone there in the first place.

But calling any part of it a success is flat out BS.

It was a goatfuck from day 1.

Biden called the evacuation a success, not the war. And he’s right to do so. Evacuating more than 116 000 people in sixteen days is phenomenal.

Let's just hope those people have not escaped the Taliban only to face unfounded bigotry and possible violence in  American

But yeah considering this was always going to be a chaotic operation. It went as well as it could have.

The war itself was a goatfuck, and given that it was a conflict between a large army and guerrilla forces with a shitton of popular support, it probably couldn’t have been anything else for us unless we were willing to commit genocide.

Thing is, he wasn’t talking about the war in general. He was talking specifically about the evacuation. And, in fairness, evacuating over a hundred thousand people in a few weeks (the largest airlift in American military history) and getting them all out in time for the deadline, that does sound like something of a success to me, even if virtually everything else about the war was doomed from the start.

Sorry.

Not buying it.

I have no respect for a man who can' t admit he or his country fucked up.

Like Bill Clinton. If he had came out and came clean - "Yeah.I fucked her. I shouldn't have but I did.  But Jesus - have you ever SEEN my wife?."  I would have respected that.

Biden is basically doing the same thing. Pretending like we MEANT to do it this way.

If he had said - "We fucked up. We shouldn' t have even gone in there. If I had been president in 2001 we might not have. But I wasn' t - we did - and we owe some people an appology - and some others an ass kicking".

That would deserve some respect.

So, you’re upset because didn’t didn’t address a topic that wasn’t the topic of his address?

Sorry, mate, but that’s like getting mad at a bloke who fixed your fridge because your car’s still making that funny noise.
