Not once did he address the instances (recorded and put online) of NYPD officers stepping over the line and assaulting peaceful protestors.
Yes, there's no excuse for rioting or looting, and those who participate in these activities should be prosecuted.
But there's also no excuse for cops pepper spraying peaceful protesters, knocking down old men, assaulting people with no provocation, and carrying on like low rent gestapo.
There are plenty of good cops out there, but they, and their reputations, will be tarnished so long as those who do break the rules are not prosecuted or, if they are, get off despite overwhelming evidence.
Most police have good intentions. I don't think all their reputations should be tarnished based on the actions of a few.
The police in questioned have been charged so we'll just have to wait and see now
