You are truly evil! "No chocolate"..........  There is no sane vet in the world whom would approve of this joke. LOL!

I seriously tell them no chocolate for every food they want that they’re not going to get. I don’t know, my grandma always did too. She told me if you use the same phrase regardless of the type of food they’re more likely to learn it and realize to stop begging because you’re not gonna share. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Animals are good at recognizing voice infection even if they don't understand specific words. I get it.

Even with my current cat, he knows if if he tries to wake me up too early, I say "It's not time yet" and he settles down for a second or two.
