After reading up on her, she seems like a damned good choice - there’s very little for the right to attack her on, she’s experienced, she’s articulate, and she’s scary smart. As a centrist, she’s not going to appeal to progressives, but that doesn’t matter much, as Biden doesn’t need them to win. OLB is correct that NRA types won’t like her, but not enough of them were going to vote for Biden to matter anyway.

What she’s going to do for the ticket is to solidify establishment Democrats and very likely cut into Trump’s support among liberal Republicans. And as a sitting Senator, her being on the ticket makes it somewhat more likely that the Senate will flip.

Looks like a very well thought out choice.

She is also rather a clueless blowhard who will say anything to appeal to voters...

When running against Biden for the primaries - she said that if Congress would not work with her - she would issue executive orders to ban the importation of AR-15s....

Sounds good, right? (If you lean that way).

Two problems.

1. It is ALREADY illegal to import AR-15s...  It has been for decades. She is either completely clueless about the situation - or she thinks her possible constituents are morons.

2. She does not have the authority to do so (if she could). Such a ban would require congressional action.


But hey - it sounds good and she looks great, right?
