As I understand it, personal tax info is rather difficult to get your hands on, even for the NYT. While I don’t discount what you say about the timing being somewhat suspect, (particularly as it gives Biden more ammo for the debate), I think it’s perfectly plausible that the story was released as soon as it was possible for the Times to do so. If, as you say, they have an axe to grind, then they would have released four years ago.

Puts Trump in a bit of a bind, either way. Either he lied to the IRS about his income, or he’s a phenomenally inept businessman.
