I agree that Brian did a stupid thing by going off and leaving his cash behind, but that’s immaterial. Suppose he’d left the keys in a car with the engine running (another stupid thing to do). Is it really sensible to think that he’s abandoned the car and that it’s anyone’s for the taking?

I still think something to treat the scatter-brainedness is a good idea.
