Now you and your ilk want to give every pimple faced booger eater the same wages as those people who worked their way up for YEARS.
That's your idea of fucking fair?
And - what about all the retirees living on fixed incomes?
You think the $15 A MONTH COLA adjustment is going to keep up with the coming inflation?
And YES there will be inflation - if not hyper inflation.
All adjustments to previous minimum wages have been small - so the inflative effect appears minimal. When you DOUBLE minimum?
Jesus.. You have no idea of the ripple effects it's going to cause.
The last minimum wage increase was passed in 2007 and set to $7.25. It didn't take effect until 2009. In 2020 dollars, that's equivalent to $9.10 (or really $8.79), so $15 per hour is hardly a doubling in real dollars.
Just increasing the base wages of one segment of the entire economy will not likely drive inflation significantly higher, especially considering that some states have already made the change.
Fact - CURRENT Federal minimum wage is $7.25 an hour. That is what a minimum wage worker will be paid per hour. $7.25 an hour. He isn't paid in 2009 dollars adjusted. He isn't paid in Krona, rubles or fucking gold galleons like Harry fucking Potter.
$7.25.
Got that?
$15 is actually MORE than double.
I wasn't going to quibble over piddling change.
So don't go blowing smoke up anybody's ass about what double IS.
