This is the kind of stupid thing that I have tried and failed to explain to cons.  You look at the way the UK, Germany, France...etc, most of Western Europe is run, far to the left of the US but not even close to true Socialism or Communism.  I have at least heard some cons say "we don't want to be like Europe", at least that's closer to honest.  But then you look at Norway; hell I'd move there in a heartbeat if it was possible.

What did you do that pissed off the Norwegians enough that they won't let you in?

Just so you know, the process for becoming a citizen of Norway is, while not complicated, extremely long. It involves a minimum of seven years (out of the past ten) as a resident with valid residency permits covering the entire time, though if you're married to or cohabiting with a native Norwegian, the time is reduced to 3 years, and if you're already a citizen of another Scandanavian nation, it's reduced to two. If, during those seven years, you leave Norway for two consecutive months or more, the required time grows by the amount of time you spent out of the country. In addition, you're required to go through 250-300 hours of Norwegian language tutoring and pass a proficiency exam.
