Not the point.

The imagery of the attempt, has a very real impact on assholes who want to destroy our government. The fact they failed does not change the fact that the attempt was literally less than a minute away from the ability of killing members of congress and the VP.

We can expect future attempts by far right assholes on softer targets. Other state houses, or businesses or churches sympathetic to the left. 

Trump succeeded in making domestic terrorism a long term concern.

That mob would not have changed a thing about the US government.

Irrelevant the attempt is enough

They recently started calling the 67 Detroit riots "The Detroit uprising" as if the relabel makes it better.

Those two terms aren't mutually exclusive 

My SO's uncle - a retired National Guard Warrant officer was there as a PFC... His thoughts? "Fuck you - it was a goddamned riot".

Who gives a damn about his opinion? It was an insurrection and it was sedition.

1. Not exactly.

In court, Todd Allison, a line prosecutor for the Justice Department in Arizona, said DOJ may want to argue that type of assertion if Chansley goes to trial, but cannot say that at the moment.  "We do not want to mislead the court by discussing the strength of any specific evidence" related to his intent, Allison said.

2.  So, a count of three makes an insurrection more acceptable to you than a count of five?
