And even if it does become that hard, well, do you really think we can keep depending on oil forever? The most optimistic estimates say we'll hit peak oil in a bit less than a century, and the most pessimistic ones say we already have. And once we do, it'll be all downhill from there. Sooner or later, we have to figure out alternatives. And frankly, in terms of both environmental impact and practicality, nuclear energy is still the best option we've got.
It's quite simple.
At our current population - there IS no solution.
We don't need to fix the hardware.
We need to fix the meatware.
