Please Justify This Police Action For Me

Now I get it.  Cops are only human and allowed to make mistakes.  Parents aren't.  Cool.  I feel both edgy and woke.

More than cops are only human, but it's unreasonable to expect the sort of moral accountability or agency one expects from virtually every other type of human from them, any more than, say, a bear or a rattlesnake.

Strongly disagree. These are ostensibly the people we’ve entrusted to help keep us safe. To that end, we’ve trained them, armed them, paid their salaries, and have given them a virtual monopoly on deadly force.

We have EVERY right to expect a higher moral and ethical standard from them. If they can’t provide or live up to that standard, they should choose another profession.
