I wish this question was my own, but I saw it on FB.
The question is still valid, however.
Truth is inherently an aspect of God (much like beauty, or justice, or mercy, or forgiveness).
And so, it is not so much a case of God is unable to lie, so much as it is "the truth can't be false" - to suggest otherwise would be a logical fallacy.
Why only ascribe "good" things to god?
Shouldn't bad things like deception also be inherent aspects of god, seeing as god is the supposed blueprint for the whole Universe and human psyche?
