Of course you can be bigoted about an occupation. The nonsensical statement, ‘All cops are evil’ is a bigoted statement.

In fact, the word means to have an unreasonable animus towards people based on their membership in a particular group. I can’t see that it matters if that group is a race, a religion, or a profession.

Not a bit of it. If you have an animus against cops, you’re having a problem with an entire group of people based solely on their occupation. ‘All cops are corrupt’ is an indictment of the occupation, since it applies equally to white cops, black cops, Asian cops, Algerian cops, Buddhist cops, vegan cops, and so on. The bigotry is directed not at the people, but at what they do for a living.
