Being a professional means operating under stress as well as calm. Probably more important what we do under duress, imo. If the officer was too stressed for this to have even possibly ended some other way where no one died, who's calling who a wimp, at that point? Maybe you should be a little less critical of the officer, especially if you want to give him a promotion.
