And he's supposed to what? Watch the heathen draw blood a few times, then nicely ask her to stop? Ideally, once.... at most, but yeah. I'm on team shooter on this one myself - but there were certainly other outcomes that the officer could have pursued.

Being a professional means operating under stress as well as calm. Probably more important what we do under duress, imo. If the officer was too stressed for this to have even possibly ended some other way where no one died, who's calling who a wimp, at that point? Maybe you should be a little less critical of the officer, especially if you want to give him a promotion.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

What drugs are you ON???
I have not been critical of the officer in any way.
What gave you the delusion that I was???
As far as I can see - he did everything by the book -- and in good form.

Nope.
He made the right call.
You do not go against someone wielding lethal force with less than lethal force. You match, or exceed.

Pretty much, yes. I’ve come to the conclusion that good cops are the exception, not the rule, so I feel justified in bringing up whatever suits me.

Currently, about a dozen or so. But the ones I know don’t think like American cops. There’s a difference.

And it's a well known fact that all cops think alike, right??
After all - they build them all on the same assembly line, right??
