Okay, after thinking about it for more than a second, I think the fact that rodents are agile as all fuck probably helps. That and they’re proportionately very fast, with a top speed of about 8 miles per hour, and, while the mouse is smaller (though the top speed is still the same, if Google is any indication) its proportional speed is something akin to 161 miles per hour. Probably smaller for the rat, but it makes sense if you think about the fact that, while rats don’t put up much of a fight when caught, you still have to catch them, and that’s the hard part, especially when you don’t have weapons (a point specified by the survey). You ever try and catch a rat with your bare hands?
