Also belief in a higher power has certain psychological and potential hidden benefits. I know for a fact that demonic spirits are real, so why not heavenly ones? The real doctrine is Reincarnation, it's even all over the bible. There are plenty of case studies for Reincarnation and it makes perfect sense to me.
Personally I tried being a total Atheist, and it just doesn't work for me. I just cannot believe there is nothing or beings watching over us. As Carl Jung discovered there is no coincidence just synchronicity. The universe and human consciousness are emergent that's why the brain looks like the cluster of galazies and vice versa. Find the picture of brain and universe. As above so below. As within so without. Spiritual practices like Tantra and Yoga can be quite an adventure, and Shamanic experiences like taking Ayuhusca root or dropping Mushrooms are also intended to be spiritual.
If 'Everything' is A diety.....
Then how does anything any where else give a rat's petunia about human affairs?
Oh.. 'Demons' exist? How do you point one out? What are their properties?
Just because something 'Makes sense' to you does not actually make it real. Escher's "Infinte stair" makes complete sense to me.... doesn't get around the fact that it's not even possible (Hint, Escher cheated with that one).
Again, sorry/sadly to say, what does or does not make sense to you doesn't have to comport with reality. It's a bonus, of course, if your thoughts/feelings DO match reality, but it's not a given.
Yoga is great excersize. Everything else? I'd say natural endorphin type highs. Excersize, it's a heck of a drug.
As for the mushroom thing? What happens inside your head? That's called 'Imagination'. Sorry to tell you but we can't actually push clouds around with our minds. Tad bad luck, that.
Cheers.
