Parishioner: Father I don't understand why the birth of Jebus is always the same date but the date his death is remembered all depends on the phase of the moon.
Priest: Oh that's because we appropriated the the holiday of Saturnalia from the Roman pagans for Christmas and Easter comes from the pagan ritual of celebrating the new life in spring.
