Still waiting on the white LGBTQ+ organization.
Apparently we’re shoveling on top of that particular pile of inane and incoherent nonsense more fresh heaps of shit:
“People should care about violence against black LGBTQ because they’re an oppressed minority. Also, why should I give a shit about violence against trans black women when they’re only a small minority?! Also, you people don’t even care about racism against black minorities!
I feel a need to give a serious answer to 'why should I care' .
"Should you care, about anything?" is actually an important question of moral philosophy. IMO neither I nor anyone else has the right to tell another what /who they should or should not care about. This is question for each individual. Nor is it right of me to accuse a person who claims not to care of being callous, even if it seems to be true.
Australia has a simple rule about how we should behave; "Don't be cunt" If you break this rule, consequences range from nothing noticeable to downright dire. IE people might simply cut you dead and avoid you, or bash the shit out of you. Australians are easy to get along with, it's just that we often lack subtlety with cunts
If Huggy is interested, which I doubt, there's a vast amount of information online about moral philosophy. I'll be brief to give just one possible reason to care about others, any others. It's called ethical egoism. This simply means that it is to my advantage to show caring for others/obey laws if I'm going to live in a society. I'm pretty sure there's also an evolutionary advantage to belong to a group. In the simplest terms, you give to get.
There's a famous poem called "Then They came---" which sums this up perhaps why one should care about minorities. Below is the short version:
"First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a trade unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me."
