Vice news made a video report of how the Church protects pedophiles.
In the report they claim:
The church is trying to cover up reports and then covering up the cover-up
Bishops are using money to hire lobbyists to make it harder for victims to come to court and sue them
The church is using top lawyers to prevent disclosure of documents
Dioceses are claiming not to know anything but they have thick files of accusations about their priests
Law enforcement needs to be brought to investigate these cases but for most of the time church is resisting that
The clergy in France is still not obliged to report a pedophile priest if they hear it during the confession
The abuse of children will keep on going because the church is not changing
