The universe has obliged with a theoretical limit on precision on the order of 10⁻³⁵ meters. Probe differences smaller than that and your ruler turns into a little black hole. Too bad Zeno never knew about the Planck constant.
I suspect that discussing the height of a tree has difficulties at far larger scales. I'm not sure it would even be meaningful at the 10^(-6) m scale.
