Hi,
By the way, the formal Christianity (as preached by Christian Churches/Denominations) and Jesus' sayings on the Gospel are different from each other.
For example, how many Christians in the world believe that John the Baptist is indeed greater than Moses and all other Jewish prophets, as Jesus is very clear about it?
How many Christians in the world know the main mission of all Jewish prophets? Isn't it just to prepare a people (Jews) for the arrival of Jesus among them? This mission was of Jesus' greatest prophet, John the Baptist. So, what could be the purpose of Judaism after the arrival of Jesus among them? But since formal Christians are not supposed to believe in many Jesus' sayings seriously, this is just one of them
In brief, the formal Christians are supposed to believe, based on faith, whatever their Churches say and approve. On the other hand, an independent student (disciple in English) of Jesus ends up believing/agreeing with what Jesus says on the Gospel based on reason, not faith. Let us recall that, in general, kids start to have faith in their parents till they become adults after which they are supposed to discover what they need in life by themselves.
Cheers,
Kerim
