I only ask because I see a lot of ad hominem attacks in responses when responding to theists on here. Personally, I don't care if someone calls me silly, moronic, etc. I'm geniunely curious if that's how you view all theists in general, if so why?
I grew up with no religion at all. I remember in college thinking that believers just needed some kind of "crutch" to make the world more tolerable, but that stronger or wiser people can do without that support.
This opinion didn't survive once I'd met some very brilliant religious people, and read books by others.
Also once you notice that there are just as many silly and moronic atheists as theists, it sort of levels the playing field. Religious belief is no longer a way to separate the moronic from the non-moronic.
I used to look just for good knowledge which could be useful in my life, nothing else. So, if I couldn't gain valuable knowledge about Reality from Jesus' sayings (read directly from the Gospel) I wouldn't bother myself thinking of him in any way. For instance, no man dares (if he is an ordinary person) or has an interest in (if he is a member of a high class) repeating clearly and openly the crucial natural truths about how the world runs (by design) as Jesus did on the Gospel. Since Christian preachers around the world know very well how to avoid talking about these crucial truths, there is no reason for the world to persecute them as it was done to Jesus and his first disciples.
In fact, if by a miracle (since I am just an independent ordinary man) I will present, openly via satellites, these truths (and all the related ones in our days), the world, atheists and theists, will not let me live more than 3 days. On the first day, the servants of the powerful rich Elite around the world will, likely by curiosity, let me go on revealing one natural truth after another while they know in advance that the world will not have the chance to hear them again. On the second day, various investigations will be launched about my past. On the third day, the World's Elite will be informed that there is not even one hole of any sort in my life to be used against me. And a decision will be made to get rid of me, for good, likely by a natural accident.
