Yeah I know he's dead a long time ago if that's what you mean.
No matter what Hitchens knew about Islam, he's not or wasn't a philosopher of religions, that's it. A journalist can't authoritatively criticize religions. Just because he's famous on Youtube doesn't means his words are timeless wisdom.
And remember that he identifies himself as an anti theist, which means he's always going to be biased against religions.
Why can’t a journalist authoritatively criticize religion? Since theology is a subject with no content, it seems as though anyone is qualified to criticize religion. For example, I’m a blacksmith and I know that Islam is a backward, childish, barbaric set of beliefs only suited for ignorant savages.
Christopher Hitchens is no longer biased against religions. He stopped being biased almost twelve years ago.
